PSID-2025 Early Release File
Early release data
collected from PSID families from March-December 2025 on mortgage distress, housing, wealth, and more have been released.
The data file consists of a balanced panel of 8,345 families active in the PSID in both 2023 and 2025. The ZIP file contains
1 SAS data file and summary documentation. These data are preliminary, un-imputed, and some values will change for the final
data release.
PAA 2026 – PSID User Workshop
Attending PAA 2026 in St. Louis? The
PSID Workshop will take place on Wednesday, May 6th from 9am-2pm. We will detail the design of the PSID and its
supplemental studies and demonstrate the structure of publicly available data files through a series of lectures and labs.

ICPSR Summer Program – 2026 PSID Summer Institute
Save the date! The in-person
PSID Summer Institute
will be held June 15th-19th, 2026 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Activities will be divided between lecture
sessions, discussions, and hands-on labs. The
ICPSR application portal
opens in February and applications will be accepted through April 15th, 2026.
Stipend support will be available to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows
.

This
American Sociological Association webinar
focuses on best practices in data collection and management, such as obtaining buy-in, reducing non-response,
collecting, managing and sharing data. With Noura Insolera, Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan
and Dessislava Kirilova, Qualitative Data Repository at Syracuse University.
Coming Soon: *Updated* CMS (Medicare and Medicaid) Data
In each main interview since 2005, the PSID asked respondents who were either age 65 or older or receiving Medicare to
provide their Medicare number and consent to link to their Medicare and Medicaid records. We are in the process of updating
CMS data to the most recent years available, and they will be ready to request shortly. More information on PSID-CMS data
linkages and the NIA Data LINKAGE Program are available
